RIP Paul Winer – “The Naked Guy”

Posted by on May 10, 2019

Quartzsite has lost a real icon this week with the passing of Paul Winer, owner of the Oasis bookstore, fine musician, avid nudist, and adult performer. Paul died in his sleep after a long illness. Many a winter snowbird has stopped by his store to see him au natural and have a picture taken with him. His boogie woogie piano concerts were a huge draw and sold out every winter. He is also remembered for Celia’s Rainbow Garden, a memorial park dedicated to his 8 year old daughter who died of a heart infection. Quartzsite will not be the same without him and we will surely miss him.

Reading about Paul Winer death is so sad. For the last twenty years we made a detour to visit the bookstore, each time we were travelling in Arizona. We met him for the last time two years ago, dressed and so tired. Last April his wife was keeping the shop and she told us about his illness.
Please, be kind to transmit her our deepest thoughts and most sincere condolences
