Still quiet this week but January and all the excitement of the RV show are coming soon! If you are looking for a good party to celebrate the new year, we’ve got some options. In Quartzsite, The Main Event is throwing a 3 day bash starting December 30th. Per their website, “Join the NEW MAIN EVENT Showplace on New Year’s Eve for a celebration to remember. An evening of fireworks, music, Food Trucks and fire pits. The Grand Opening will begin with an evening filled with Fireworks, Concert, Dancing, Ferris Wheel rides, Parachutes’, Hang Gliders, Short Course Motorsports, a Motorcycle Acrobatic Show along with an Outrageously Large Bar-B-Que and Refreshments. It will be a fun filled weekend to introduce the MAIN EVENT Showplace and bring in the New Year.” Sounds good to me!
If you feel like a drive or are spending your winter a little farther north, the BlueWater Resort and Casino in Parker is hosting a party with live performances by Soul Persuasion and DJ Cees which starts at 4 pm, December 31 in the Dig Lounge and will end at 2 am on New Year’s Day.
Up in Lake Havasu City, London Bridge Resort will be hosting a “Gatsby New Year’s Ball” on New Year’s Eve. The event will be themed after the lavish parties held in the novel, “The Great Gatsby.” The event will feature musician Chuck E. Bumps accompanied by his live brass-section band. There will be a four-course meal along with party favors, champagne and a ball-drop at midnight. It starts at 7 pm and costs $50 per person to attend.
If Gatsby isn’t your thing, how about diamonds and denim? The Refuge Golf & Country Club in Lake Havasu City will be hosting a “Diamonds and Denim New Year’s Eve” party from 7 pm – 12:30 am with a barbeque buffet dinner and a balloon drop. There will also be a live musical performance by the Briana Payne Band. Cost is $70 for non-members, and $55 for members.
For my friends down in Yuma, AZ for the winter, the The Golden Roadrunner Ballroom is hosting a party for you folks with dinner and dancing for $20 per person. Per nextdoor.com, “doors open @ 6 and reservations are required. The Dakota Players will be playing and we will be having a “hot potato” party with all the fixings,salad and dessert. The cost is $20.00 dancing will begin at 8 dinner will be served between 6:30 and 7:30pm. You may bring your own bottle we have soda and Ice, the soda is $1.00 and ice is free.
